1) Always have a advertising budget whether you are marketing online, offline, or doing a combination of both. Advertising is essential to your business life and growth. Stick to your budget for a year so that you will have on-going momentum. At the end of the year, evaluate how you have done and make adjustments as needed.

2) Keep in contact with your team. You can touch base with them on a regular basis by phone or by email. This is an important best practice strategy to implement, especially for those on your team who are serious team builders. Your team members joined, hopefully, because they know, like, and trust you. This doesn’t stop after they join you, so keep in close contact. Once your team grows, you likely will not be able to talk and work with everyone 1:1. However, you can still work closely with your top leaders and teach them how to work with their people. This ensures strong support throughout the team.

3) Be consistent with lead generation. As a network marketing distributor, having a constant influx of interested prospects in your pipeline is necessary. It is also important to make sure that the system you use to attract prospects is duplicatable. In other words, it should be so simple that a veteran or someone just starting out can use successfully.

4) Build leaders and make them successful. You want to hear from your business builders, “I’ll do whatever it takes”, and not “Well, I’ll just try and give it a shot.” The second response usually means if things don’t work out for the person, they very well may quit. Leaders also make sure their distributors order products. They never complain to their upline or downline, and have their own aspirations, goals, and drams. True leaders also will run a meeting if you are away. You want to build leaders with strengths such as these on your team.

5) Have a written plan. As a professional network marketing distributor, always write out your plan and how you desire to achieve your goals. Do this on a weekly basis, work it, and then review it at the end of the week. If you are not satisfied with how things turned out, make adjustments for the following week.

6) Discover the marketing practice that works best for you and become really good at it. This may be article writing, blogging, creating on-line videos, e-zine advertising, etc. If you are not sure what you want to do, implement what is working for others until you find what works best for you.

Becoming a successful network marketing distributor and leader does involve following the best practices others are using with great success. Study them, implement them consistently, and watch your business experience continuous growth.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, PLR is content that you get from the original author along with their permission to use it as your own. So you can get a great report, put your name on it and have your own product to sell or give away!

The first couple of products I created using PLR only took me about half an hour. There have been a few sales so far from them so that was definitely time well spent.

When searching for PLR content to use, I found there were a lot of different types of sites available. Some offered monthly memberships and others offered just one time purchases. So be sure to look around before you decide where to buy.

The site I found that was by far the best was PLRWholesaler. Not only do they have an unbelievable amount of content, but it’s completely FREE. Most sites charge an arm and a leg for the amount of content that this guy is giving away.

And although I haven’t been through everything yet, what I have read is very good quality. It’s stuff you would actually want to use as your own.

Since it’s free, I highly recommend that you check out PLRWholesaler and see if they have anything that you can use in your business. There just may be an ebook or audio recording that you could quickly brand with your information and start selling to your list.

At it’s core marketing is essentially nothing more than research. That is to say it’s about identifying groups of potential buyers and then finding the best way of bringing the product to their attention, generally through some form of advertising.

Once potential customers have been identified, marketers will try to reach them by developing what is called the “Marketing Message”. The more closely this message resonates with the wants needs or desires of prospective customers the better the odds of making a conversion, aka, closing sales.

Marketing online has some distinctive advantages to off line marketing methods. Online marketers can conduct market research using search engines or keyword searches using specialized programs as well as various other methods.

In minutes the online marketer can accumulate highly accurate real time data on what people are looking at, or looking for online. The value of this powerful research capability can not be understated.

Online or offline, marketing and sales seem sometime to overlap in the development of what is commonly known as the “pitch”. The pitch of course is how the marketing message is delivered. It’s where the marketing “rubber” meets the road so to speak.

If the marketing has been done properly then the marketing message will be clearly delivered in ad copy, sales copy or by what ever means it is brought before the prospective customer.

Here are four tips to help your new Network Marketing distributors launch and build their teams, based on the four different areas of the business.

1. Personal Use: The quickest way to learn the business as well as be sold on it is for new distributors to actually use the company’s products. If the person doesn’t make an effort to use any products and does not believe in them,  you shouldn’t have sponsored him or her in the first place? So, make sure your new folks are not only sold on at least 2-3 products, but also actually use them.

2. Retail Sales: It will be hard for a new distributor to make any sales if he or she has zero products to retail. Don’t you think it will look bad when your new recruit approaches a customer to make a sale, and doesn’t even have any product on hand? Therefore, it is important to remind your new MLM distributors to be supplied with some products when he or she starts their new home business.

3. Samples: Most companies have products that can be given as samples to potential customers. As a true leader, it is important that you lead your new team members by example. So, show them how to give away the free product samples to customers.

4. New Distributor Start-Up: This is similar to number three. When you start a new distributor in their new Home Business , if he or she is a local person, the individual will need products as soon as he or she joins. If you plan on starting more than one person at a time, you need to have enough supply on hand to give to each of them at wholesale pricing. This is necessary because your new team members needs something to carry them until their first product shipment comes in. This approach also helps motivate your new distributor to keep their new home business in the forefront, to focus on getting the word out, and to start building their own teams. This step is crucial to getting your new team members started off right.

In summary, as a team leader, you want to do all you can to assist new distributors in starting their MLM home business right. They need to earn money by moving products, and, in return, to become even more motivated to be successful when sales are made. So, follow these tips and your new team members will be so thankful to you and your help!

Eventually you will want to set aside monies for paid advertising to increase your revenue but not until it’s self-supporting and paying for itself.   You get better website traffic by paying for it vs. getting it for free.  Fortunately, you can generate revenue with the five free methods I’m about to tell you.

1. One good method is the use of online forums and online communities. The great thing about these is that you can target the group that fits the demographics that you are looking for. You can talk about all the diffrent aspects of the niche that you represent or offer.  Another great advantage is that you know what you are getting into and you will be prepared.

With online communities and forums you build a reputation and trust for yourself and your company . One important point, just remember that people are there for information, therefore use caution on trying to hard sell your product.  Eventually they’ll ask for a recommendation and that’s when you offer your product.

2. Another method is to start a newsletter. The purpose of the newsletter is to make you the authority figure for your niche by providing good content. A good course of action here is to build trust and respect from your readership before offering your products of services to them.

A good technique is to have a series of three or four messages spread three to four days apart without any attempt to sell them anything.  Then in the last message of that series tell them the remaining issues will be weekly.

From this point on they should trust you and want to buy what you are offering.  Personally I like to provide good content in the newsletter and soft sell by recommending a product or service on topic at the end.  Others will have ads in three spots.  A sponsored ad at the beginning, an ad in the middle, and finally one at the end.  I’m sure there are other techniques too.

3. Another great approach is trading links with other sites. You don’t have to spend a cent for this though there are sites that will want to charge you. This works by reaching an agreement with another webmaster to trade links. 

By exchanging links, the traffic generating efforts of both sites will mutually benefit both sites. The traffic generated by your link partner is a potential visit to your site too. This works well especially when both sites feature similar non-competing products in the same niche.

4. Writing articles is a good way to establish yourself as an authority and to generate traffic.  You can post your articles on your website, in a Blog, or submit them to article directories. 

In each case I would follow the guidelines above regarding newsletters.  However, for article submission, almost without exception, you are limited to a resourse box at the end.  Just read the submission guidelines and you’ll be fine. You can find article submissions by doing a search for “article directories” or “Article Submission”.

Your articles should pique the curiosity of the people with an interest in your niche. Try writing articles that will provide tips and guides to the readers.  Writing articles that provide good content and shows knowledge to other’s will provide targeted website traffic you need to profit hansomely. 

5. Finally, write good content for your site. Many search engines track the keywords and keyword phrases your site uses and how they are used. Just use caution here because quality content is back and you may get penalized for over-doing it. 

It is not a requirement that the content be written by a professional writer. You sould write your own in your own style.  Eventually you may consider finding a freelance writer to ease the burder but initially the idea is to generate free website traffic.  Just write the copy as if you were explaining the content to someone over the phone or in person. 

Generally, Internet users use search engines to find what they are looking for. Search engines in return index web pages to provide the best information to their users. With the right content, you could get high rankings in search engine results without any costs.

In conclusion, all of these methods work and will drive good traffic to your site for free. All it takes is a bit of time and effort. Learn all you can about the methods depicted here and you will soon increase your website traffic without the usual costs that come with it.

The strongest objection to Network Marketing I hear is that it’s a pyramid scheme.  If that’s true then so is every corporation and business structures out there.  Let me explain. 

Every corporation has a President, Secretary, Treasurer, and a Director.  The larger ones have Vice-Presidents in charge of divisions to make the organization more efficient.  There’s only one President who’s responsible for running the business.  Everyone else is in a support role to him or her.

In a traditional business’ there’s a sales force to generate revenue.  That sales force has managers, regional managers, and most likely a Vice-President.  Okay, I know business 101 but it’s to support my position.  Doesn’t the structure appear as a pyramid too?  The only difference is that we have all been taught that that’s the only — traditional - way of doing business.

I contend that the only difference between standard corporations and Multi-Level Marketing is the sales force.  A traditional corporation has employees and MLM uses distributors as independent businesspersons.  Each has rules and regulations to follow and the earnings power varies on the aggressiveness ones efforts.

Another reason many think it’s a pyramid scheme is how monies are paid out.  Most corporations have incentive pay where managers from the top down share in the profits from the levels below them.  Even the basic sales person often gets a larger share of sales depending on their volume of sales. 

Now contrast that to MLM where instead of Vice-Presidents and other levels of the sales force there are independent businesspersons responsible for their own marketing and everything else for that matter.  Okay they use terms like “level” making it sound like a pyramid but isn’t the hierarchy of President, Vice-President, Regional Managers… est. too?

So as I see it, there’s no difference between the traditional model of doing business in a corporate structure or through the use of a Multi-Level structure.

In conclusion, the difference between the corporate structure and Network Marketing is the structure of the sales force.  The corporations use Vice-Presidents, Regional and local Managers, and salaried employees.  The Network Marketing system uses independent businesspersons to make the sales.

The profit trickles down through the organization based on the number of people each group leader has sponsored and the sales volume achieved by each member of the group for the sales period.

Affiliate programs and MLM are not for every company. There are costs of maintenance, and a payroll to meet every month. The biggest advantage of using these programs is that a non-employee of the company makes every sale. This way the company does not have to pay the worker’s benefits and Social Security taxes. Each affiliate or network marketer is an independent taxable entity. They are not employees of the company from a legal standpoint.

Business owners must decide for themselves the best way to expand their business when it comes time to do so. It all comes down to a cost per sale analysis. Finding the best way to capitalize your business always includes market research and weighing the benefits of your available options.
