As a leader in your MLM organization, you know that your work is only beginning when a prospect joins and becomes a new distributor on your team. One of your tasks is to assist him or her in getting set up right.
Now, since we all know it is impossible to sell anything from a cart that is empty, we want to make sure our new team member doesn’t start off handicapped! Here are four tips to help your new Network Marketing distributors launch and build their teams, based on the four different areas of the business.
1. Personal Use: The quickest way to learn the business as well as be sold on it is for new distributors to actually use the company’s products. If the person doesn’t make an effort to use any products and does not believe in them, you shouldn’t have sponsored him or her in the first place? So, make sure your new folks are not only sold on at least 2-3 products, but also actually use them.
2. Retail Sales: It will be hard for a new distributor to make any sales if he or she has zero products to retail. Don’t you think it will look bad when your new recruit approaches a customer to make a sale, and doesn’t even have any product on hand? Therefore, it is important to remind your new MLM distributors to be supplied with some products when he or she starts their new home business.
3. Samples: Most companies have products that can be given as samples to potential customers. As a true leader, it is important that you lead your new team members by example. So, show them how to give away the free product samples to customers.
4. New Distributor Start-Up: This is similar to number three. When you start a new distributor in their new Home Business , if he or she is a local person, the individual will need products as soon as he or she joins. If you plan on starting more than one person at a time, you need to have enough supply on hand to give to each of them at wholesale pricing. This is necessary because your new team members needs something to carry them until their first product shipment comes in. This approach also helps motivate your new distributor to keep their new home business in the forefront, to focus on getting the word out, and to start building their own teams. This step is crucial to getting your new team members started off right.
In summary, as a team leader, you want to do all you can to assist new distributors in starting their MLM home business right. They need to earn money by moving products, and, in return, to become even more motivated to be successful when sales are made. So, follow these tips and your new team members will be so thankful to you and your help!

There have been some remarkable examples of success, and those successes have been earned through diligence, enthusiasm and the right product combined with timing.” -Donald Trump, famous real estate developer, star and co-producer of the hit television show The Apprentice“I am often asked if network marketing is a pyramid scheme. My reply is that corporations are really pyramid schemes. A corporation has only one person at the top, generally the CEO, and everyone else below. A true network marketing business is the exact opposite of a traditional business model. The network marketing business is designed to bring you to the top not keep you at the bottom. A true network marketing business does not succeed unless it brings people to the top.” -Robert Kiyosaki, author of the New York Times and international best-seller listed book Rich Dad Poor DadThose two quotes from the “Your Business” volume 2 issue 2 article called, “Why We Recommend Network Marketing” by Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump shows that MLM has really come of age and is worthy of serious consideration. They also provide ammunition to prevent nay Sayers from dampening your enthusiasm. So what do you want to do? Stay poor and keep getting poorer working for someone else? Or get RICH in Network Marketing!

Throughout the years Network Marketing or Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) has turned into a bad word by many people even a curse word to some. Whatever your thoughts I want to explore the reason why so many people refuse to get involved in MLM and explain why I feel it’s a valid marketing system.
The strongest objection to Network Marketing I hear is that it’s a pyramid scheme. If that’s true then so is every corporation and business structures out there. Let me explain.
Every corporation has a President, Secretary, Treasurer, and a Director. The larger ones have Vice-Presidents in charge of divisions to make the organization more efficient. There’s only one President who’s responsible for running the business. Everyone else is in a support role to him or her.
In a traditional business’ there’s a sales force to generate revenue. That sales force has managers, regional managers, and most likely a Vice-President. Okay, I know business 101 but it’s to support my position. Doesn’t the structure appear as a pyramid too? The only difference is that we have all been taught that that’s the only — traditional - way of doing business.
I contend that the only difference between standard corporations and Multi-Level Marketing is the sales force. A traditional corporation has employees and MLM uses distributors as independent businesspersons. Each has rules and regulations to follow and the earnings power varies on the aggressiveness ones efforts.
Another reason many think it’s a pyramid scheme is how monies are paid out. Most corporations have incentive pay where managers from the top down share in the profits from the levels below them. Even the basic sales person often gets a larger share of sales depending on their volume of sales.
Now contrast that to MLM where instead of Vice-Presidents and other levels of the sales force there are independent businesspersons responsible for their own marketing and everything else for that matter. Okay they use terms like “level” making it sound like a pyramid but isn’t the hierarchy of President, Vice-President, Regional Managers… est. too?
So as I see it, there’s no difference between the traditional model of doing business in a corporate structure or through the use of a Multi-Level structure.
In conclusion, the difference between the corporate structure and Network Marketing is the structure of the sales force. The corporations use Vice-Presidents, Regional and local Managers, and salaried employees. The Network Marketing system uses independent businesspersons to make the sales.

MLM Multi Level Marketing Network MarketingMLM Multi Level Marketing Network MarketingEvery business depends on networking between employees and other stakeholders in the company to accomplish the goals of management. To be effective in a small business, you have to take a look at the way a corporation builds its network of clients and recruits their employees. Effective networking practices assure the highest profitability for a business. This is why human resources is such a high priority in the corporate world. A corporation draws its strength from its client base and the reputation it builds by recruiting the best and brightest employees.
If you are a small business owner, you have probably thought of expanding your business. The way to increase sales is done through either leveraging capital or human resources. To leverage capital, you would borrow money and invest it in your means of production. This might be better equipment, more employees or anything that would increase your productivity.
Most small businesses choose to leverage human resources. A good example of this is an affiliate program. The idea behind running an affiliate program is to offer other companies or individuals a monetary incentive for acting as agents to sell your products to the public.
Imagine having a small army of affiliates selling your products. The best part is that you only pay them a commission after they sell your product. You have no paid salespeople at all. Basically, you just receive the orders, process the payments and ship the goods to the customer.
This is a good example of effective networking because you have a built-in loyal workforce once you have hired your affiliates. The benefits to the merchant are increased sales, market share and product visibility.
Another popular form of networking is direct sponsorship in a Multi-Level Marketing organization. In this type of marketing plan, an individual sponsors many other people into an organization. Then he trains this group of people on how to sponsor more people into the organization themselves. This method results in a very large base of marketers working to sell products for the company. The original sponsor gets paid for his efforts by the volume of sales his team produces. The profit trickles down through the organization based on the number of people each group leader has sponsored and the sales volume achieved by each member of the group for the sales period.
Affiliate programs and MLM are not for every company. There are costs of maintenance, and a payroll to meet every month. The biggest advantage of using these programs is that a non-employee of the company makes every sale. This way the company does not have to pay the worker’s benefits and Social Security taxes. Each affiliate or network marketer is an independent taxable entity. They are not employees of the company from a legal standpoint.
Business owners must decide for themselves the best way to expand their business when it comes time to do so. It all comes down to a cost per sale analysis. Finding the best way to capitalize your business always includes market research and weighing the benefits of your available options.
If you decide to use one of the methods outlined above, it is best to discuss this move with a qualified marketing specialist. Also hire a qualified accountant for taxes and payroll purposes. You may want to talk to other business people who have successfully made this change for more information.
Affiliate Programs Marketing Network MarketingAffiliate Programs Marketing Network MarketingIn today’s hectic life, as a businessperson it’s a tough balancing act to keep things going and make a profit. Especially in a sole proprietorship where you don’t have any employees or you may have but one or two. This presents an interesting dilemma. That is, do I market today, or do I work and bring in some revenue. Tough decision at best, the first brings in revenue in the future, the second brings it in today. What is one to do?
That’s a good question and in a recent post titled Balancing Doing and Marketing the author [name not stated] recommends some very good solutions. I would like to expand on the point of using technology.
The Internet is pure technology and can help you establish an effortless marketing system freeing you up for more important activities.
The key element for the Internet is the website. If you don’t have a website for your business get one up as soon as practical. They are much less expensive then a billboard and are the stepping stone to greater profits.
Once in place you can use many methods to drive traffic to your site and increase your client base. One popular method is Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising. PPC advertising is highly targeted, even down to your city in many cases. If your business is global you can reach out to potential customers around the world. Thousands use this Internet marketing technique quite successfully. Lets look at an offline method for traffic…your business card.
By simply putting your web address on the card your contacts have a clearer picture of what you have to offer and will most likely use your service or product.
One final thought, freeing up your time with an effortless marketing system makes your life much less stressful.
Sounds like a virus and that is a bad thing, unless you think about how a virus works in your body or on your computer. Basically, once you get one, unless you do something to stop it the virus grows.
Now apply that thinking to , since growth is exactly what you want. Imagine if you write an ebook you give away to three friends each and they give it to… get the picture? It will grow like wildfire! Soon you have 100’s if not 1000’s of people exposed to your ebook.
With careful planning, your ebook just happens to have products and services you recommend, and just so happens you are an affiliate marketer. Simply include your affiliate links and watch the results. You will see growth from places where you have never been to!
Like most things, viral marketing has its drawbacks. People actually rob affiliate codes and modify them to rob your commission from you. And just like a virus, there are remedies. One is called cloaking and it’s simple as pie. There is cloaking software, there are page re-directs, and it all works like forwarding. What generally happens is you create these links like this:
http://www.domain-name.com/word
When it is clicked on, the link actually goes to
http://www.thelongeststringofwordsandnumbers.com/
Cloaking does two things; Hides the 3″ long affiliate links companies make you use, and hides the affiliate code from thieves, and yes they are out there and you have been warned.
But the advantages to viral marketing far outweigh the disadvantages. Just make sure that where you host your pages, or the software you use to build your web pages can do re-direct type forwarding.
Let other people spread the ebook around. Use an auto responder to deliver your ebook automatically. Offer it on your web site. Give it away; do not sell it because you will limit how many people want it. The more that get it, the more clicks to affiliates and the more sales you make.
You will need ebook or web site content, so unless you are a professional web copy writer, you may need some help. One best idea is to find base articles and re-work to suit. To have a starting place is a tremendous advantage and great time saver too.
So do not be afraid to jump out there and become an author or a webmaster, maybe even both. Ebooks and information are hot commodities. When you market them virally, nature takes over and it spreads.
Have you ever received an ebook from someone else that bought it, and the intent was for each reader to purchase the book? It’s quite natural to share and that is the beauty of viral marketing. Growth comes naturally and easily, but you have to get started now, it takes time to work.
Once the virus affect of viral marketing kicks in, the only thermometer you will be using is to make sure your margaritas are cold.
Internet marketing viral viral marketingInternet marketing viral viral marketingIf someone were to ask you what the foundation of your Internet Marketing business endeavors consisted of, would you have an answer? If you find yourself hesitating for even a moment, then it may be time to review this age old concept and analyze how it impacts your online ventures.
From a very early age, we were all taught that a building is only as strong as its foundation. This analogy was usually used when teaching a life lesson - whether to enforce the importance of a strong foundation in matters of family, emotions, friendships, education, or business endeavors. And for brick and mortar businesses, the concept of a solid foundation is usually not lost on most people either.
When it comes to online marketing however, this principle often eludes Internet Marketing Professionals. The apparent reason is the vast amount of options and diversity of revenue streams that are available and the ease of their implementation.
Because it is much easier to institute an online business than a traditional brick and mortar, the importance of creating a solid foundation is often overlooked in the swiftness of the inception of new niche products or marketing efforts.
In Internet Marketing circles, you frequently hear a lot of talk about the importance of focus, and this certainly touches upon the concept of creating a solid foundation; but just being admonished to maintain focus is not going to suddenly manifest a solid foundation for your online pursuits.
The idea behind a foundation is to uphold the entire structure. When Internet Marketers are told to focus, what should really be stated is the importance of focusing on the foundation. Not just focusing on a given product, or a specific project or a dedicated niche. To the contrary, the foundation of your online business is the glue that holds your products, projects and niches together.
You don’t have to look far to see the effects of a lack of foundation. In fact, all you have to do is listen to the panic that ensues every time Google has one of their infamous algorithm changes. This is akin to putting all of one’s eggs in one basket and has caught many a marketing guru in the proverbial cross.
With Internet Marketing, the prospect of laying a proper foundation is a double edge sword. On the one hand, it is not advisable to jump from one project to anther; but on the other hand, it is critical to stay current with trends and technology. While trying to maintain a balance between these two, you walk a fine line in establishing a solid foundation that will be both dynamic as well properly grounded.
Whether you have been marketing online for a while or are just beginning to assess your place in the Internet Marketing world, take stock of the direction you are going and where it may leave you in the months and year to come.
For example, when choosing a niche, by its very definition it is based upon consumer demand. And that demand is largely dependent upon current fads, available technology, market need or some combination of all three. Regardless of whether you choose to serve that niche through email marketing, affiliate programs, blogging, or authority sites, in each instance you will be rising to meet the current trends.
So using the above example, a typical scenario would be to capitalize on a niche topic like MP3, podcasting, or something similar. However, the moment that technology makes these things obsolete and replaces it with the latest and greatest electronic wonder, the profitability of this niche would swiftly decline.
If however, you choose a niche such as consumer electronics or audio video equipment, then your foundation would remain much more solid and have the ability to stand the test of time. Establishing yourself as an authority in the consumer electronics niche — albeit through promotion of iPods, MP3s and podcasting today — gives you the reach for incorporating anything else that may turn to favor tomorrow.
These are the types of things that need to be considered when addressing a proper foundation for your Internet Marketing endeavors. Utilizing this method of reasoning will insure longevity and to do otherwise will insure only short term success at best.

Every business owner knows that the key to success is how well you market your business. Your business is not any different. Success depends on your marketing strategies.
There are many different marketing techniques with many different price tags attached to them. Depending on your type of business, you will need to develop a marketing plan that generates sufficient customers to reach your goals.
Using many different marketing techniques will quickly drain your bank account. Your first goal will be to determine how you can reach the most people for the least amount of money.
Here is one marketing technique that is cost efficient and a little more adventurous for you the “Business Owner.”
Become an Expert
What is your business? Look around at your competition. How do they present themselves to the general public? How can you present yourself differently?
Go buy a local newspaper, local magazine, listen to your local radio station; watch your local TV station. Are any of your competitors currently marketing themselves as an expert in your field?
Contact your local media and discuss the various ways that you could work with them. Local newspapers and magazines will have opportunities to write “Advice” articles. Local radio and TV stations may have talk shows that could host you weekly or monthly.
Contact the various local organizations that are looking for speakers for their monthly luncheons. Your Chamber of Commerce is an ideal place to start. Join your Chamber and get an article about you and your business published in their monthly magazine.
Study your customers and choose the type of media that would reach them. Talk to your current customers and ask them to give you their opinion about which area you should market in. Find out what they listen to and what they read, and what organizations they belong to.
What type of personality do you have?
Make sure that your personality matches your marketing strategy. Radio and TV would be a perfect match for you if you enjoy speaking in front of people, have an outgoing personality and a voice that carries well. Newspaper and magazine article writing will be perfect for you if you do not enjoy speaking in front of groups.
Becoming an expert in your area of business will not take years to achieve. Stay on top of the latest news about your business. Subscribe to trade publications to keep informed about new trends. The Internet offers many ways to stay informed on any topic.
The key to becoming an expert is to take the knowledge you have and the new information received and decide how your customers can benefit from this information. Not all news is beneficial to your customers.
Your goal is to cause your customers to look at you as the one to come to when they need what you are selling. You want them to refer their family and friends to you.
Don’t be shy. Go out there and market yourself as the expert that you are. The more exposure that you receive, the more exposure your business will receive.
